MindMonitor settings for 2hour Cognitive Assessment

Post by Tray »

Hi James,
I’m undergoing a 2 hour cognitive assessment today and was hoping to record the data from the test to review afterwards with one of the clin psych students. Could you please advise the best settings for this assessment?

Press the Record button. Wait two hours. Press the Stop button ;-)
That's it!
I would recommend setting up Dropbox first to sync your recordings to your Mac/PC and run a quick test to make sure it's working. On the iPhone version Dropbox support is built in. It will prompt you to login the first time you try and record. On Android, you can save files with any file sharing/cloud service you have installed on the phone.

Apologies mate my initial post was extremely vague 🤦‍♂️
I’m assuming the default calibration having received my muse and downloaded the app will suffice for the purpose of this assessment?
The purpose is to record the EEG data, Apple Watch biometric data, video record me completing the assessment under their supervision and drawing correlations upon review.

Would pressing record on the default settings be the best options for this? Or would it be best we adjust to specifics.

The test is relative to “out of the box” tech (so minimal adjustments) but happy to hear your thoughts!

If you want to be able to do FFT analysis of the RAW EEG in MATLAB, then you can change the "Recording Interval" in settings from it's default of "1 Second" to "Constant". This will give you 256Hz RAW EEG data which, please note, will make the recording file substantially larger.

But the default settings will be fine if you just want to record your brainwaves and not do FFT in MATLAB.
