Different patterns in AF7 vs AF8

Post by Nkk123 »

I have observed wildly different patterns in my AF7 vs AF8 graphs. The difference is prominent in Gamma band especially. The right hand side power/activity is very less. Is this normal? Does that mean my mind is not in coherence?

The first thing to check is how clean your data is. Look at the RAW EEG. You want thin crisp lines with ideally less than +-50uV variance.

James, Thank you. I did check the RAW EEG. other than an occasional spike due to swallowing or throat clearance, RAW EEG is within the +-50uV variance. This kind of AF7/AF8 difference has been a pattern with my meditation graphs for the last few years.

I guess that's just your brain then :-)
Different sides of the brain are responsible for different things, so left and right being different isn't unusual. That being said, I've not seen this much variance in my own data, but everyone is unique!
