Bad fit on Muse Monitor but good fit on Muse Direct/Muse App

Post by jonathanpedigo »

I have a bad fit (none of the nodes are filled in, not even the center black one) on the Muse Monitor app but when I use the other muse apps it works just fine. It stopped working mid session while I was recording, I have cleaned the device and charged the battery. Gyro scope reads successfully. Very sad because I just bought the app and the graph visualization and data storage is so awesome

has this happened to anyone?

What's your phone make and model?
On some phones I have seen issues when Bluetooth headphones are connected; possibly because the Muse data uses so much bandwidth. Could this have been the case in this instance?

On the iPhone it won't be bandwidth. Apple devices have good specs ;-)
For an Apple device the problem is likely dirty contacts. The front three sensors are the ones which detect if the headband is on the head.
Interaxon recommend cleaning them with rubbing alcohol.
If you're getting data on the RAW channels but the HSI still shows the headband is not connected, then is just the two sensors to the left and right that need cleaning.
