Information about focus atention

Hello,
I'm new here, and just got my Muse S last week. Really interesting device.
Besides meditation I also have interest in the other thing we can get from the info we get like how to ready the level of focus a person is having at the moment.
My idea is to make a desktop app that read the OSC data and use it as a kind of pomodoro timer, showing when the user should have a break.
I know, the brain waves related to focus are Beta and Gama, but I also saw on the myndlift app they read the Low Beta waves to measure when the user is "in the zone".
What I need to know is where to start? What should I read? Waves peaks? The difference between the Beta waves in relation to others? Is there a place where I can get information about it in baby steps?
Thanks!
