Increase the connectivity of the Mind Monitor to a contemporary level (MQTT, Home Assistant, InfluxDB)?

We probably said this before, but we repeat it once more. We are not selling any soft- and hardware products. But we are currently promoting:

1. The most accurate optical heart rate sensor on the planet:

https://petergamma.org/use-four-polar-o ... cg-device/

Is it not much more fun to use than the terrible inaccurate PPG heart rate monitor of the Muse Headband? We only have to connect the Polar OH1 sensors over the Polar Sensor Logger app:

https://petergamma.org/polar-sensor-log ... ch-center/

over MQTT to Home Assistant /InfluxDB and analyse it there with the InfluxDB client for Python.

2. The most accurate foot pod on the Planet (Stryd)

according to this review:

https://fellrnr.com/wiki/Stryd

We can analyse the ground contact time during practicing walking meditation with this device. Is this not much more fun than counting your steps manually, as Rob ter Horst, PhD does for his device reviews?

You can get your Stryd data over MQTT over Retö Röllins Rasperri PI ANT:

https://petergamma.org/projects-by-reto ... tyflow-ch/

Or you can sync your whole Garmin watch data to Home Assistant over Strava:

https://petergamma.org/activity-data-fr ... assistant/

We are also promoting:

3. The best selling EEG device on the planet with the best selling EEG app on the Planet:

Muse headband and Mind Monitor.

But the app connectivity of the Mind Monitor ends at Mind Monitor Python OSC Examples and matplotlib :

Next to the end of the Muse SDK from Interaxon, this is the second big tragedy of the Mind Monitor.

With a contemporary connectivity of the Mind Monitor for instance over MQTT to Home Assistant / InfluxDB or over a streaming solution to Home Assistant, the app which was developed for Neuroscience students, would become a real research tool for those.

Do they want to analyse the Muse headbands PPG signal, or do they want to write their fist scientific paper with a contemporary heart rate monitor?

Do they want to analyse the breath rate of the Muse headband from a terrible inaccurate accelerometer breath signal, or do they want to analyse their breath rate in real-time from a Python respiratory rate algorithm? Something, nobody has ever done before, and is therefore worth publishing in a scientific paper.

This decision has to be made by the supporters of the Mind Monitor. James Clutterbuck, a very talented computer scientists currently offers us a Mind Monitor with Python OSC examples connectivity and matplotlib. This does not use the full potential of the Mind Monitor app.

How much more can be done with a Mind Monitor Home Assistant integration? We are Physiologists, and we lack of time and computer skills to develop such a connectivity. We also do not know, whether MQTT is necessary of a Home Assistant support of the Mind Monitor, or whether it can be connected over a streaming solution.

If the Mind Monitor app developer James Clutterbuck does not realize the full potential of the mind monitor app, then it's really a shame. Then our last hope is that someone with good programming skills increases the connectivity of the Mind Monitor to a contemporary level.

We think MQTT is not urgently necessary, if we don t want to see your brainwaves on every device in the house which has MQTT support.

Can the Mind Monitor data be streamed in real-time into InfluxDB using this path:

with a little extra coding? Or is there a timing problem?
