Hi All,

I am using the MindMonitor application to record EEG data from a MUSE 2 headset regarding a neuromarketing study. I have been researching online to understand how the horseshoe calculates signal quality or good signal connection but have not seem to be able to find any information other than if there is a solid colour then connection is good. How does the horseshoe work?

Signal quality is determined by looking at the variance of the RAW EEG per electrode.
When you have a good connection, the RAW EEG varies by very very little as brainwaves are electrically very small.
Muscle movement create large noisy signals. You can see this yourself by switching to the RAW EEG view and then blinking, wiggling your eyebrows or clenching your jaw.
