Porting Mind Monitor to OpenBCI?

For years I had trouble to find a device which can read and write to the external SD card, as my beloved Galaxy S5 with Android KitKat 4.4. could to. Beginning from Android Marshmello I was pissed of about Android and Google, and could not find a device which I was happy with.
Now, the revolutionary PinePhone reestablished this option, and I finally found a device which also can run contemporary Android Apps at the same time.
Why do companies like Google and Interaxon cause trouble to excellent computer scientist and neuroscientists? The Mind Monitor App was developed by a computer scientist, and is a greatly appreciated app. But with the end of the Muse SDK, is there any further developement of the app?
I propose to port the app on an open platform like Open BCI, where there is no company behind who causes troubles to excellent developers.
