OSC values for absolute band power

Post by woodwindblues »

Hello,

first of all, thanks for programming and maintaining this app!

I have a question regarding the values for the absolute bandpowers, that are sent via osc. I am getting values roughly between -1 and 3. How are the dB values for the bands in the app computed from these bandpowers? Or could you tell me what the normal range for the bandpowers is, so that I could scale them apropriately (generally it would be extremely helpful to have value ranges all of the sensors, mabye this is something you could add to the OSC FAQ on the website, if you have those specs)?

I am using a Muse S (Gen 2), which, by the way, seems to send different values then the Muse 2 of a friend (for example -2 to 2 (Muse S) for Accelleration vs -1 to 1 (Muse 2)).

All the best :)

As per the help (https://mind-monitor.com/Technical_Manu ... h_absolute); "The EEG PSD values as read from the sensors are commonly in the {-1:+1} range. For the text value display these are shown in a more legible {0:100} range"

The conversion is (value+1)*50.

If you email me a recording, I'll have a look at the Muse S Gen2 values, to double check.
