Sensor Issues

I have a Muse 2. After pairing with Mind Monitor it only shows readouts for the gyroscope and accelerometer. The brainwave sensors don't show up in the horseshoe. I've insured I'm wearing it properly in the Muse app, then close the Muse app and open mind monitor and still nothing. Kinda at a dead end, any help would be appreciated!

The Absolute values are only calculated when the Muse is detected, otherwise you will see the flatline values. An empty black ring on the Horseshoe Indicator means the headband is not being detected as being on your head.

This happens when the center front three sensors are not in good contact with the head. If you are getting data on the RAW EEG channels then the very center sensor pad is making contact, but the two on either side of it are not.

In colder weather this is usually because of dry skin, which prevents a good electrical connection. Try cleaning your forehead with a damp cloth before putting on the Muse. This will gently exfoliate the skin and the moisture from the cloth will also help make the electrical connection.

The other reason could be the sensor strip itself. If it is dirty or has oxidization marks, Interaxon recommend cleaning with rubbing alcohol:

From your RAW EEG screenshot, the ear sensors are well connected, but nothing else.

I have a similar problem but only with the right ear sensor, I also don't understand why the spectrogram on my device only displays red colour.

Thank you!

Hold two fingers on the spectrogram to adjust the color range min/max. Release to set it.

If the right ear sensor isn't getting good data, then you probably have some hair in the way.

Last week I had the same problem with silverfactory. However during that time when I connected to Muse app it was still work correctly. It was able to calibrate and while meditate it was able to detect whether I focus or not. So I thought it was problem with Mind Monitor app.

Few day after that I always able to connect and meditate in muse but cannot detect RAW EEG. So I search in this forum and found this. After I cleaning my forehead with a damp cloth before putting on the Muse then Mind monitor work correctly.

Thank you for your advice.

However there are one more thing I wonder that Muse can detect the same signal and go on operate well without asking user have to do anything more to fix muse while mind-monitor cannot.

Mind Monitor is designed for research, if the signal is not good then it lets you know. The Muse app is designed for meditation, so if it looses partial signal, it will not tell you and will let you continue to relax. This makes sense, as having their app flash up warnings would break the relaxation experience.
