Mind Monitor for acquiring only accelerometer data?

I am looking for a solution the get information from an accelerometer for head movements and body movements. There are several devices for this available. But the Muse headband has also a built in accelerometer and excellent software support. Therefore I am asking:

Is it possible to tear down a Muse headband and use it only as a data acquisition system, which is mounted on the body or on the head, to record accelerometer data, sends it to the Mind Monitor, stores it as .csv values, or stream those through OSC? In which part of the Muse headband is the accelerometer located?
