Hi guys
I'm a total newbie here. I just started using Muse and I'm not sure what this graph means. Can anybody shed some light? I don't know what's supposed to be good or bad or what we are aiming for when meditating. Also what are the units of the y axis/what is it actually measuring?
Thanks

There are many conflicting opinions on what relaxation looks like and Interaxon are keeping their algorithm a secret. In my opinion high relative Alpha looks like a good candidate. This means high Alpha and/or lower other waves.
If you want a deep dive in this theory, check out the research paper "My Virtual Dream: Collective Neurofeedback in an Immersive Art Environment" by Natasha Kovacevic, Petra Ritter, William Tays, Sylvain Moreno, Anthony Randal McIntosh:

For a more basic guide, have a look at Interaxon's beginners guide to brainwaves:

Also, If you hover your mouse over the live graph, you can see the BF/GF markers on the graph are "Bad Fit" and "Good Fit".
When the headband is not properly on the head, you will see that EMG (muscle movement) interference makes Delta artificially high.
