I’ve read that increased gamma waves occurs with concentration, but can it be the inverse? I feel like I can increase gamma waves anytime, but am wondering if I should. The meditation usually gets intense when I do this and has lead to multiple insights, but should I not do this sometimes for other purposes? Not sure if this is the right place to post this question.
Thanks
Marc

Meditation should increase alpha wave activity and increase gamma wave activity in the left prefrontal cortex.

Are you sure about this Peter?Peter Gamma wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 9:06 am Meditation should increase alpha wave activity and increase gamma wave activity in the left prefrontal cortex.
I have been meditating for a few years now and although I have seen an increase in Alpha I primarily see an increase in gamma in all four quadriants of the brain.
I have also seen other highly experienced meditators claim the object is to reduce gamma to zero, and produce graphs showing they have acheived this.
