Gel for improved measurement quality

Hey!

I was curious whether the application of a gel on the electrodes would help with more stable and better quality measurements? If so what kind of gel would help? Maybe ultrasound gel?

I tried gel sometime ago. It did not help at all. I still have bottles of it left on my window sil.
