is my muse broken?
is my muse broken?
I bought a Muse 2 a couple of weeks ago, it was working perfectly, all the graphs we're showing, signal was good etc. Now I can't see any readings on the spectogram and discrete graphs, and on RAW only the Ave is showing, TP9, AF7, AF8 and TP10 are not reading anything. The signal seems ok, and I just tested it with the muse app and it worked fine.
Re: is my muse broken?
Can you please upload a screenshot.
Re: is my muse broken?
Absolute is normal.
Raw only shows Ave, and some times AF8 shows up but then it disappears again. And the values on top are reading "nanμV" alternating with the numbers.
Discrete doesn't show anything.
Spectogram is just solid red.
Uploaded some screenshots.
Thanks!

Re: is my muse broken?
NaN is very bad, that means Not a Number. What make/model of phone do you have?
Re: is my muse broken?
I have an iPhone 11, but as I said, it was working fine until yesterday.. =(
Re: is my muse broken?
Do you have any other bluetooth devices connected to your phone? AirPods etc? If so, please try without them connected.
NaN happens when the app isn't getting all the data from the Muse. Usually this happens on cheap Chinese Android devices with faulty Bluetooth chips, however I have heard from a contact at Interaxon that they did have problems with AirPods using too much bandwidth over Bluetooth when certain features were enabled.

Re: is my muse broken?
Now that you've mentioned, I did connect my airpods with the muse yesterday to try the guided meditations on muse app. However, the problem continues even after disconnecting all other bluetooth devices. I just noticed something interesting, as soon as I start the mind monitor app, all the graphs are there (Ave, TP9, AF8 etc), then a few seconds later they disappear and only Ave remains.
Re: is my muse broken?
Please reboot your iPhone try a session without connecting your AirPods. If it's still not working, please record the session for 5 minutes and I'll look at the data and see if there's any NaN in there.
Re: is my muse broken?
It's weird because sometimes AF8 or TP9 graphs pops up..
Here's the .csv file with the session.

Thanks again for the help

Re: is my muse broken?
Wow, this is the worst NaN data I've ever seen.
If you load the CSV into the online chart viewer here: https://mind-monitor.com/Chart.php
It shows "[NaN Count:141 (52% of data).]"... So more than half of your data is missing in transmission.
Next step, let's find out if it's the Muse band that's faulty or your phone. Do you have another phone you can test with?
