Delta Wave Dominant?

Post by caleb.hodges »

Hello,

Every time I have used the Muse headband, I seem to run heavy and dominate in the Delta wave arena. However, I know this isn't really a thing due to the low frequency. My raw data is clean and connections are good. What is the relationship Delta waves have relative to the other waves? How do know which waves are dominate? Because it can't be because of DB...for if it was, I should be in a deep state of conciousness that is unexplainable...Haha. Any help understanding this would be much appreciated.

I feel ya. I also have the same issue. Could be a fluke, could be excellent cortical plasticity or could be adhd. Dominant delta is seen in all, but nothing short of a professional eeg will determine that. Muscle and eye movements may also cause interference and spikes as I understand it. Even something as simple as an eye blink which is true in office setting EEGs.

Are you sure your RAW EEG is clean?
This screenshot from the main page shows good RAW EEG: https://mind-monitor.com/img/mm-screen-3.jpg
I'd be really interested to see a recording of your data if you don't mind sharing. I've only ever seen high Delta from EMG (muscle movement/bad connection) interference.

Regarding the dominant wave, that's whatever is at the top with the hightest number.

If you’re interested I can give you access to my Dropbox data. There is a lot of weird ones in there. What I have been doing is I have been able to learn to switch from delta dominate to alpha dominate by watching the mind monitor graph. When I was about 6 or 7 I was in the doctors office. For the first time I had kne of those finger heart monitor put on my finger. I was able to learn pretty quickly that I could control my heart rate by looking at that.

Once I remembered this and associated it with mind monitor I was able to actively switch with intent between alpha and delta dominance. It’s pretty wild I think. Every time I put the muse on when I have this built up adhd anxiety my Delta waves are dominate, and the signal is so much stronger than the rest. Once I put the device on I can switch to alpha and the anxiety goes away. It’s and excuse my language but fucking incredible.

This was from my morning switch a few minutes ago. I have to do this a few times through the day but it works.

Noticed high delta which I have never seen before on me. Wonder if it has something to do with the time of day? Always been a night owl. I’m in cyber security and always did all by best work at night.

This tool is so cool. Working on trying to bring beta up and it seems it only takes intent. I’m able to suppress delta and bring beta up. So cool wish I understood this better.

Hi everyone and thanks James for this app! :)

I have the same question, I have been pondering for a long time, I always have the same kind of data like this https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ysAU2S ... sp=sharing do you think that it's possible ?

Thanks!

Me and my partner are both delta-dominant; we attribute it to ADHD.
